Shotoku Koban Gold Coin - -PCGS(MS70)

The Shotoku Koban gold coin is a beautiful oval gold coin with a deep golden color characteristic of high-purity gold, as its gold content matches that of the Keicho gold coins. Like the Keicho coins, it bears no weight marks or date stamps. Compared to Keicho coins, it is slightly wider horizontally, and the chisel marks on the surface are more uniform. There is also a difference where the sixth stroke of the character "光" (light) on the surface merges with the next character to form a single line. The Shotoku Koban is extremely rare with very few surviving specimens.
